TAMPA, Fla. The USF football team is making a comeback and Quarterback Byrum Brown is a big reason why.
The Redshirt freshman is putting together a season to remember.
In his first full season as a starter Byrum has put up big numbers both in the air and on the ground but it's his impact on the program off the field that has become just as important to this University and fan base starving for a winner.
Brown's style of play reminds USF fans of Quinton Flowers, the former dynamic signal caller known for his big runs and his electric style of play.
The North Carolina native has a chance to lead USF back to a bowl game for the first time since 2019 with a win in one of the teams last two games and he's doing it with both his legs and his arms.
Brown ranks first in the AAC in total offense and third in passing yards . At his current pace, Brown is on track for a top 5 passing season in school history and if the team makes a bowl game, he has a chance to become the first 3,000 yard passer in school history.
Number 17 is no longer the best kept secret in college football and each week he is making believers out of every one who watches him play.
