Former Syracuse defensive end Dwight Freeney will be officially enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Freeney was named one of five modern-era selections in the Hall's 2024 class.

During his time at SU, Freeney was the Big East Co-Defensive Player of the Year in 2001. He finished his career as SU’s all-time leader in tackles for loss with 50.5.

Drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft, Freeney played 11 seasons in Indianapolis before spending his final five seasons with five different teams.

He ended his NFL career with 350 tackles, 125 1/2 sacks, 47 forced fumbles, seven double-digit sack seasons, seven Pro Bowl appearances, three All-Pro selections and one Super Bowl ring.
