Celebrated session musician and friend of the show, Don Randi dropped by The Beat on 1 Wednesday to speak one-on-one with Anchor, Melvin Robert. As keyboardist with the legendary Wrecking Crew -- a prolific group of session musicians who worked throughout the 60s and 70s -- Don played on literally dozens of million-selling records, working with artists like Phil Spector, the Beach Boys, Nancy Sinatra, and Linda Ronstadt.
Don spoke to Melvin about working as a musician during the hey-day of the record industry, his jazz club The Baked Potato, and the recent passing of Wrecking Crew drummer, Hal Blaine.
