The location is the tracks where they cross 7th Avenue near 34th Street in Ybor City.
The tracks are a nemesis to Cynthia Sexil-Wood, known as the “snack lady.”
"I go to different locations throughout the city of Tampa,” she said. “I'm licensed, and whenever there's something the kids need - different, certain holidays throughout the year - I give back to them."
Her truck is her office. But thanks to the tracks, her vehicle was damaged to the tune of about $1,000.
"If you don't know the tracks and you go at the regular speed, you could hit these tracks and lose control of your vehicle,” Sexil-Wood said. “Like now, I have front end damage to my truck due to these tracks, not knowing that the damage was there when I originally hit the tracks months ago."
She can't afford the repair, so she’s hoping CSX will make things right.
The rail company asked her to jump through some hoops, which she did, but she said it’s now been three months without a response.
Henson on Friday reached out to CSX on Cynthia's behalf. In the meantime, please drive slowly through that area.
