While Texas enjoys sunny skies and rain-free weather, the highest impact through midweek will be the very hot temperatures.

Morning clouds and afternoon sun will be the pattern through at least Wednesday for most areas. High temperatures will run 6-10 degrees above normal for mid-May.

This means highs in the 90s for north Texas; middle to upper 90s for south and central Texas, with 100s across the Rio Grande Pains.

As humidity rises, the Heat Index ‘feels like’ temperature will add 5-10 degrees to the temperature readings, making it dangerously hot.

Stay safe from the heat and hydrate well. Be especially mindful of children and elderly people, as they are more sensitive to the effects of excessive heat.
