After quiet weather much of December, a big change is on the way for Thursday with numerous showers and thunderstorms.
A cold front will approach the area late Thursday morning.

Out ahead of it, we'll see a line of showers and thunderstorms cross through, mainly between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The Nature Coast will be the first to see storms, with Polk County being the last to clear.
Some thunderstorms could be severe.
The main concern is for strong wind gusts, but an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out.
Showers wind down Thursday night with temperatures falling to near 60 around Tampa Bay and near 50 along the Nature Coast.
