Summer doesn’t officially begin until June 21, but it's already been quite toasty around the state.
So far this month, temperatures hit the 80-degree mark plenty of times- and it looks like we'll see more summer-like days through the end of the month!
Keep in mind, average high temperatures across the state are in the mid to upper 70s this time of the year. Anything higher than that would be above average.
The Climate Prediction Center (CPC) shows a higher likelihood of above-average temperatures through the end of the month. So, we may even see more 90-degree days popping up across the area.
This Friday is a good example. Many areas will see highs climb into the low 90s, with a few spots even breaking records.
So far, the data is leaning more towards a slightly wetter-than-average pattern to take hold the rest of the month. Not every day will have rain chances, but we certainly could end up with above-average rainfall totals before May ends.
With warmer and wetter weather in store, many folks can plan on cutting their grass more than they usually would!
