DALLAS — Dallas Mavericks fans are still reeling following the blockbuster Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis trade.
Saturday marks Anthony Davis’ Mavericks debut and fans have gathered outside the arena before the game, holding signs and singing “HalleLuka” and chanting “Fire Nico!”
The protest commenced outside of the American Airlines Center hours ahead of the 2 p.m. Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets game.
A GoFundMe campaign targeting Nico Harrison and the Adelson family with billboards in Dallas has already collected around $47,000 towards its $85,000 goal.
In a stunning three-way trade announced on Feb. 2, the reigning Western Conference champion Dallas Mavericks sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis.
The trade sparked outrage among Mavs fans, with Doncic’s father, Sasa, even stating his son was undeserving of such treatment.
