NATIONWIDE — Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is set to open at the end of this month at Disneyland in California.
- Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge to open this month at Disneyland
- Custom lightsaber experience to cost $199.99
- Visitors will get to choose hilt, kyber crystal and other parts
The 14-acre land will feature a ride inspired by the iconic Millennium Falcon, several themed shops and restaurants as well as a build-your-lightsaber experience at Savi's Workshop.
The Disneyland website now lists the price for the custom lightsaber experience, which is going to set you back $199.99 plus tax.
Visitors will meet with one of the Savi's Gatherers, who will help them select one of four themed hilts. The themes include Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, and Protection and Defense.
The Gatherers will then help visitors select their kyber crystal, which is the heart of the lightsaber. The crystals are available in red, blue, green or violet. From there, visitors will assemble their hilt from a box of parts that includes the hilt and the choice of two sleeves, one emitter, one pommel cap and one set of activation plates and switches.
Once the hilt is completed, it will be connected to a 36-inch lightsaber blade. In addition to the lightsaber, visitors will also receive a carrying case.
The lightsaber building experience at Savi's Workshop is limited to the builder and one guest—with at least one person being 14 or older, according to the Disneyland website.
The experience will also be available at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios, which is set to open on August 29. Prices have not been released for Disney World's version.
