TAMPA, Fla. – In 2019, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay celebrated its 60th anniversary with new attractions. And 2020 is shaping up to offer even more.

In the spring, the theme park will debut Iron Gwazi. The record-breaking coaster will be the tallest hybrid coaster in North America and the fastest and steepest in the world once completed.

The coaster will send riders from a 206-foot-tall peak, reaching speeds of up to 76 miles per hour.

Busch Gardens is also adding new acts to its popular Real Music, Real Masters concert series. In addition to returning favorites, six new acts are scheduled to perform this spring, including the Piano Men: Sir Elton John and Billy Joel Tribute, Eaglemania: The World's Greatest Eagles Tribute Band and BJ Thomas.

During Sesame Street Safari of Fun Kids Weekends, which runs every Saturday and Sunday from February 1 through February 16, visitors will have a chance to meet new characters like Snuffleupagus. The event also features scavenger hunts, dance parties and themed storytime.

And all-new for 2020, Busch Gardens is adding Mardi Gras Weekend. The event will take place February 22-23 and feature specialty food, cocktails and live entertainment at the Moroccan Palace Plaza.

Adventure Island, Busch Gardens' water park, will also debut a new attraction called Solar Vortex. Set to open in the spring, the attraction will be the first dual tailspin waterslide in North America.
