KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Mine Blower, the wooden roller coaster at Fun Spot in Kissimmee, has reopened after receiving a track upgrade.

The coaster closed in April for a retracking project by Rocky Mountain Construction. The company updated sections of the coaster’s wooden track with steel track to eliminate to improve the coaster.
RMC focused on the “most dynamic sections” of the coaster’s track, Fun Spot said in a news release. On its website, RMC describes its 208 RetraK system as steel track that “lasts up to five times longer than traditional wood coaster track.”
“We have focused on creating and providing something new at each of our parks as well as enhancing our entire operation,” Fun Spot president and CEO John Arie Jr. said in a news release. “The reopening of Mine Blower is huge for our fans, passholders and first-time guests of all ages.”
Mine Blower debuted in 2017 and became known as the only wooden coaster in Florida with a zero-G barrel roll.
The completion of the Mine Blower upgrade comes as Fun Spot celebrates its 25th anniversary this month. The company’s Summer Celebration is also underway at all three parks, which, in addition to Kissimmee, include Orlando and Fayetteville, Georgia. The event includes new photo spots and new menu items.
