Events begin 2 p.m. | Pirates sail back out to sea with final cannon salute 6:30 p.m.
It all began with a huge party – how could it not end with a huge party! Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla will celebrate their conquest of Tampa with a festive celebration that will include live music and merriment, as Tampa’s favorite pirates make ready to leave the city.
Following an afternoon of fun, the captain of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla meets with Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, who seeks the return of the key to the city. After a brief encounter, the captain and his mates board the Jose Gasparilla and sail back out to sea with a final cannon salute launched toward downtown Tampa.
