A summer-like pattern will continue into Tuesday with storms expected later in the day. 

If you're hoping to take the bike out for a spin, try to do so before 2 p.m. if you want to avoid storms. After 2 p.m., the chance for storms will increase, especially inland and away from the coast. 

Storms will continue to develop across the interior through the evening, then slowly work toward the coast after dinner. Most of the storms will taper after sunset. 

Temperatures will warm to the mid and upper 80s during the afternoon.

The long-awaited diverging diamond interchange is now open at I-75 and State Road 56 in Wesley Chapel. Four years after the Florida Department of Transportation first let commuters know about this change, it’s finally open. They opened it yesterday afternoon.

4. Taxpayers likely to see taxes jump if Reedy Creek is dissolved, Central Florida state senators say
Three state senators said today they want residents and commercial property owners in Orange and Osceola counties to know that, under current law, their taxes would have to jump substantially if the Reedy Creek Improvement District is dissolved next year.

7. Spirit Airlines rejects takeover offer from JetBlue
Spirit Airlines’ board still supports Frontier Airlines’ $2.9 billion takeover bid for the airline, saying it determined JetBlue’s competing $3.6 billion offer isn’t a superior proposal.

8. Biden admin. to invest $3.1 billion in U.S. manufacturing of electric car batteries
The Biden administration today announced a new $3.16 billion investment in American production of electric car batteries, part of the president’s broader plan to expand the manufacturing of electric vehicles and charging networks and reduce U.S. reliance on oil.

9. Met Gala returns to traditional spot on first Monday in May
The year’s biggest night in fashion, the Met Gala, returns to its usual berth on the social calendar this year after pandemic upheaval. And if it feels like one of those what, already moments, it is.
