Even before the impacts of the recent hurricanes, emergency efforts to restore the beaches were ongoing.

Gulfport was hit hard by Hurricane Helene and Milton – devastating the coastal areas – but the clean-up is underway and some businesses are opening back up.

President Joe Biden is gathering South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba for talks today amid heightened concerns about North Korea's growing military partnership with Russia and Pyongyang's stepped-up cadence of ballistic missile tests.
4. Burgum, Collins, Blanche among Trump's latest administration picks
President-elect Donald Trump announced a handful of additional selections to serve in his administration late yesterday. The picks include North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum as interior secretary and former Georgia Rep. Doug Collins as veterans affairs secretary.
5. Tampa family again performing their Nutcracker twist
For the 17th straight year in Tampa, the Jansen Dance Project will present “Goin’ Nuts,” a modern-day twist on the classic “The Nutcracker” ballet.

- TAMPA TRAFFIC NOTES: Daily lane closures continue on West Shore Boulevard in Tampa, from San Jose Street to Sunset Boulevard. It's for utility work from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will continue until Nov. 27. Meanwhile, there is a new closure in Dunedin. Westbond Skinner Boulevard is closed from Douglas Avenue to the Pinellas Trail. Drivers can use use Highland Avenue, Main Street and Broadway to get around it. It's for construction of a new roundabout. The closure is expected to be in place through early 2025. Avoid delays with our Real-Time Traffic Map.
- COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Tomorrow's games include No. 22 LSU at Florida and South Florida at Charlotte. For a preview of games involving Florida teams, click here.
- PIE ADDS SAVNNAH SERVICE: Allegiant today started service from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) to Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) in Georgia. The new flights will operate up to three times weekly. Flight days, times and the lowest fares can be found only at Allegiant.com.

Pasco County mom survives tragic accident with help from her boys
Kayla Miller suffered a tragic accident a week before Hurricane Helene hit the Bay area. A tree fell and hit Kayla in the head, knocking her unconscious.
Thanks to her children, she is recovering.
