Winter storm brings snow and cold to Florida
A significant winter storm is bringing heavy snowfall across parts of the Gulf Coast, including the Florida Panhandle.
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect across North Florida and the entire Panhandle. Parts of north-central Florida, like Alachua and Marion County, are under a Winter Weather Advisory because of the potential for brief sleet or freezing rain to mix with rain through Wednesday morning.
Use extreme caution if traveling north up I-75 toward the Panhandle Wednesday morning. Cold temperatures will allow wintry precipitation to stick to the ground and rain could freeze, especially on bridges and overpasses, creating slick and dangerous travel. Read more...

3. Lawmakers look to keep TikTok from going dark again with bill that would repeal the potential ban
Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna of California joined forces Monday in a bid to stop TikTok from going dark in the United States again, introducing a bipartisan bill that would outright repeal that law Congress passed that bans the ultra-popular social media app if its Chinese-based owner doesn’t sell it.
4. Report: College Football Playoff championship game returning to Tampa
According to a report in the Action Network, Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium has been selected to replace Dallas as the location for the 2029 College Football Playoff championship game.

- TRAFFIC NOTES | All lanes of North 22nd Street are closed between East Fern Street and East Lambright Street while the Tampa Water Department repairs a water main break. Barricades and signs will be located in the area to assist with traffic flow. The completion of the work with a return to normal traffic patterns is expected by 5 p.m. Friday, weather permitting.
- BOLTS ON THE ROAD | The Tampa Bay Lightning are on the road again tonight, with a matchup at the Montreal Canadiens. The Bolts are coming off a Monday night, 5-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The puck drop tonight is set for 7 p.m.
- HOSPITAL RECRUITMENT FAIR | St. Anthony’s Hospital is hosting a Volunteer Recruitment Fair from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow in the Jackson Street Conference Room at the hospital, 1200 Seventh Ave. N, St. Petersburg. - SEAWORLD PRESCHOOL CARD | SeaWorld Orlando and Aquatica Orlando are offering their free Preschool Card for 2025. The card provides unlimited admission to the two parks throughout the year for children ages 3 to 5. Registration for the Preschool Card is now open and will close on Feb. 3, 2025. The first visit must be completed by Feb. 28. Once activated, the card provides admission through Dec. 31, 2025.

Leticia Crawford overcomes health issues to return to the classroom
Leticia Crawford had to take a break from teaching in 2021 when she was hospitalized with COVID-19. "I went from being on three different levels of oxygen in ICU and also told that I needed to find someone to make my life decisions," said Crawford.
Crawford says she's thankful to be back doing what she loves.
