Hailing from Florida's 8th District, State Representative Gallop Franklin was inspired to run for office because he has a background in pharmacy, and he viewed becoming a legislator as another important way to serve his community. The biggest lesson he has learned during his time in office is how much he doesn't know--he is constantly learning about issues and policies from healthcare to judicial services.
One thing Franklin wishes people knew about his job is what effective leadership and legislative success looks like--working together to pass bills is not always an exciting or headline-making process, but that is how legislators make a difference.
Franklin's favorite teacher is his mom--he was home schooled from second to eighth grade. His secret talents are playing the violin and doing karate and gymnastics.
