Hailing from Florida's 22nd District, the biggest lesson State Senator Joe Gruters has learned in office is that legislation is a team sport--Republicans and Democrats work well together and are committed to doing what is best for their communities. 

A few things Gruters would say his district does better than anywhere else are infrastructure, higher education, and leisure activities. He would say his biggest accomplishment during his time in office is passing a bill to move power lines and network structures underground to avoid damage from hurricanes.

Gruters's first paying job was at Publix.
