Remember the Bob Evans restaurant in Seffner that was closed due to damage consistent with a sinkhole?
Officials have started the process of replacing it.
Demolition crews began tearing the structure down Thursday morning. Demolition had been held up due to lack of permits.
Workers at the restaurant, located at 11720 Tampa Gateway Blvd., noticed cracks in the walls in June. Officials said a sinkhole opened up underneath the building, which forced the restaurant to close.
Company officials say the land has been solidified and the restaurant will be rebuilt with a grand opening planned for fall.
