Florida's SunPass tolling system is processing payments again.

For nearly a month, drivers had been driving through tolls and not getting the bill for it.

The Florida Department of Transportation said an outside contractor, Conduent, was to blame.

Not getting charged was quite the surprise for drivers.

"We were like, 'what the heck is going on with the SunPass? How come they're not charging us?'" said Rob Lewandowski, who operates a food truck business. "We were figuring there might be a glitch in the system or something."

According to FDOT, the problem is fixed and drivers will begin to see those toll transactions on their accounts, but the charges will not appear all at once.

Instead, the transactions will be posted gradually, starting with the oldest transaction.

So far, more than 4 million transactions have been posted.

FDOT said they will suspend late fees and penalties until the system is fully operational.
