HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A man wanted for murder in Miami was arrested in Thonotosassa Friday morning after a brief SWAT stand-off with Hillsborough County deputies.

Saddoni Levirrick Dowtin, 31, faces a second-degree murder charge in connection with a homicide in Miami on July 13. 

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office received a call Thursday evening from the Miami-Dade Police Department that Dowtin could be hiding in Hillsborough County. 

An investigation led deputies to a home located at 9305 Grandfield Rd. in Thonotosassa around 1:30 a.m., Friday. 

The SWAT team was called to the scene around 7 a.m. after deputies failed to make contact with Dowtin. 

An hour and a half later, Dowtin surrendered to the SWAT team without incident, officials said. 

He was transported and booked into Orient Road Jail.
