VALRICO, Fla. — A Bloomingdale High teacher has been charged with video voyeurism.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Mark William Ackett, 49, has been arrested and charged with recording a female student undressing on school property.
Deputies said the incident happened Tuesday at the Valrico school.
The student was trying on clothing in a designated fitting room within a fashion-design classroom.
Authorities said while she was changing, she noticed recording devices in the area where she was undressing. The student reported the incident to school administrators.
School officials began an initial investigation and then alerted the sheriff's office. Detectives began a criminal investigation.
Authorities said detectives determined that the cameras had been secretly placed in the changing room by Ackett, the fashion design teacher.
Authorities said Ackett admitted to detectives he was recording students while they were changing.
Hillsborough County Public School's Professional Standards division was notified and also investigating. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
