The recall includes both hot and refrigerated popcorn chicken sourced from Pilgrim's Pride sold in the deli between January 17-31.
The product was sold in all Publix stores in Florida and some stores in southern Georgia, southern and coastal South Carolina, and southern Alabama.
Publix didn't specify the foreign material.
No other chicken products are included in the recall, and the impacted products have been removed from store shelves, the Lakeland-based company said.
Customers can return the product to a Publix store for a full refund. For more information, call Publix's Customer Care department at 1-800-242-1227 or the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 1-888-MPHotline (1-888-674-685469).
