A company announced plans to buy and redevelop the Bardmoor Golf Club in Seminole, but county officials would have to sign off on rezoning first.
Dozens of residents Tuesday night listened to them about that process.
The issue for a lot of residents is they specifically bought their homes to be on a golf course. And they say they're prepared to put up a fight to save their current way of life.
A developer recently announced plans to buy the course and replace it with houses and a hotel. However, no applications have been filed yet, so nothing is set in stone.
But just the idea of going from golf course views to the back of someone else's home has a lot of residents upset.
"We bought the house almost 10 years ago with the idea that we have no neighbors, we live on the golf course, we have a beautiful view," said resident Bill Foley. "And that is potentially going to disappear."
Both Pinellas County officials and developers assured those who attended the meeting that they would be involved in the process moving forward, and that no big decisions would be made without their input being taken into consideration.
