Well in Kevin Fisher’s 4th grade class at Combee School of Design and Engineering in Lakeland Oreos help in teaching students about the phases of the moon!
At this magnet school it’s no surprise students love anything STEM-oriented.
But in Mr. Fisher’s class, students say they are learning even more about the world around them and their place within it.
“What I try to teach my kids is a growth mind set so with a growth mind set I want them to think about they can do whatever I put in front of them,” says Fisher.
“My hope is I want them to think that when they come to school they are having a good time. I want them to think that learning is not only a life long journey but it's also something fun to do.”
Caleb Rooks is one of those students who loves the challenge. He nominated Mr. Fisher as an A+ Teacher.
“It just feels like he is the best teacher and I feel like he should have an award honestly,” he said.
Mr. Fisher has been teaching for 14 years.
