ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A homeowner shot an intruder overnight during a home invasion in St. Petersburg.
According to police, the female homeowner shot the man just before midnight after he broke into the home in the 2500 block of 26th Avenue North.
Authorities said the intruder managed to make it out of the home and was found one street over screaming from his wound. The suspect was taken to an area hospital ehere he was reported to be in stable condition.
The homeowner was not injured.
The shooting remains under investigation.
