ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Yet again, the typical summer pattern of afternoon to evening storms out there today. A few have lingered, producing very heavy downpours with frequent lightning.

Skies will go back to mostly clear into early Wednesday morning.
Lows will be in the low to mid 70s inland and upper 70s at the coast.
Wednesday will again start out sunny and dry for the morning with clouds building around midday and scattered storms developing through the afternoon to evening. They will tend to drift back closer to our coastal regions late in the day into the evening. The coverage will be at about 40 percent by the end of the day.
Highs will again be in the low to mid 90s.
The storms will slowly die down Wednesday evening with lows in the 70s.

Thursday will feature more scattered storms than the past few days with the coverage increasing to 50 percent. They will be in the afternoon to evening but they will tend to move into the Gulf in the evening so be aware of that if out on the water that day.
Highs will be in the low to mid 90s.
The tropical wave currently down near Puerto Rico will move toward us and bring lots of moisture into our atmosphere.
That will result in a lot more cloud cover and numerous showers and storms Friday into Saturday.
So if you have outdoor plans keep that in mind that those two days won’t be as nice, and not our normal summer pattern.
The rain coverage on Friday will be at about 70 percent, and 60 percent for Saturday.
High temperatures both days will therefore be below average in the mid 80s.
