WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — The Language and Literacy Academy in Winter Haven has been evacuated due to a smokey haze inside of the building. 

• Smokey haze detected inside Winter Haven school 
• Students and staff were safely evacuated
• Winter Haven Fire Deparment is conducting a sweep to determine the source 

Students were evacuated and sent across the street to Grace Lutheran on Avenue C Southeast.

Parents have been notified and the Winter Haven Fire Department are working to determine the source.

There is no visible fire and a sweep is being conducted.

Students and staff are safe and WHFD are working to make sure the school is safe for re-entry.
