In response to Hurricane Dorian, Walmart is providing disaster-support assistance to employees who have been impacted and setting up support centers in the communities affected.
The company is also providing prescriptions and immunizations to customers, working with suppliers to stay in stock and activating emergency support teams to provide experts in logistics and emergency management.
Over the past two years, Walmart has donated nearly $50 million in cash, water, food and other products to support victims of hurricanes, wildfires and tornadoes.
“Since Katrina, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation have formalized our disaster response program to quickly help those who have been hit hardest.” Gehrki said.
