ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — One person was killed and another seriously injured in a Saturday hit-and-run crash.

- Driver of stolen Mercedes still being sought
Police responded at 10:14 a.m. to 9th Avenue South and 40th Street South.
According to investigators, the driver of a stolen Mercedes crashed into a Malibu and almost sent it into a home.
The Malibu driver was seriously injured and the passenger, 27-year-old Saniya Daxon, died later at a local hospital.
The driver of the Mercedes left the scene in another vehicle, police said.
"We were sitting down watching TV and all of a sudden we heard this loud boom," said Janet Howell. "And we just both jumped up and came to the door and we saw all the cars and people running this way, and we didn’t know what to do when we called 911."
