According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a home in the 900 block of Edgedale Circle for a report of a shooting.

The victim in the shooting, a man in the 30s who has not been identified, used to live in the home, along with a female resident. Investigators say the victim was at the home picking up personal belongings when he got into an altercation with another man who was visiting the house at the time.

During that altercation in the house's front yard, the second man shot the victim, who died at the scene.

Thomas Cram, who lives next door to the home where the shooting occurred, told us he saw the moment when the confrontation turned deadly.

“I saw a hand with a gun — now bear in mind it was early," Cram explained. "And pew pew pew! Shot him four times right there, and that guy fell down, the body was there, got up and started running down the street, I couldn’t believe it. And then I heard him say, ‘Why did you shoot me?’"

The Sheriff’s Office said the shooter, later identified as 35-year-old Carldon Travis King Jr., remained at the scene and called 911. After he was questioned by investigators, he was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

No charges have been filed in the case yet. The investigation is ongoing.
