CLEARWATER, Fla. — The year was 1964.
The Beatles had the five top songs of the year. The Warren Commission report on JFK's assasination was released.
Gas was 30 cents a gallon and 22 year-old Annie Rayner went to work at Morton Plant Hospital.
That was 55 years ago and Rayner, now 77, is still working there.

Her first job was in Environmental Services.
“I was working in the OB unit like cleaning, making the discharge beds, cleaning the delivery room, getting ready for the next delivery,” said Rayner.
Five decades later, you find Rayner in the open heart surgery unit working as a unit secretary and EKG tech.
"I’m dealing with patients and families you know and my co-workers, I just enjoy because I feel like I’m doing something to help somebody," said Rayner.

Rayner credits her longevity at the hospital to decades of convenient schedules.
"These hours here at Morton Plant was always convenient for my family,” said Rayner.
“So, you can’t just think of yourself, you gotta put your family first."
Now that her six children are grown, Rayner says she doesn’t mind working during her golden years.
"Well, I retired for almost a year and I realized I wasn’t ready, so I got in touch with my manager and they took me back,” Rayner said laughing.
Working through the golden years, encouraging people to remember the golden rule, “One thing you gotta do is to treat people the way that you want to be treated,” said Rayner.”
Getting ready to celebrate her 78th birthday in March, we asked Rayner if she had plans to retire anytime soon.
"Well, maybe a few more months, I’m not gonna nail it down to how many, said Rayner.
“Eventually, I gotta give it up and let the young people take over."
Rayner’s colleagues are not convinced Rayner will retire anytime soon!
