Due to the COVID-19, the organization has had to scale back food distribution.
“We are giving out 1,500 meals, which is roughly half of what we’d normally do on Easter,” says VP of Communications, Justine Burke. “Because of the virus, we had to scale back our volunteers, and production.”
Volunteers colored more than 1,000 eggs, and assembled 300 Easter baskets to give out to the community.
“It’s been a difficult time, but it’s rewarding to help,” says Burke.
Metropolitan Ministries also created a virtual Sunday service, which includes devotions, words of encouragement, and prayer requests.
