ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The cold front is still to our north. Severe storms have been going on ahead of it across the Gulf Coast states.

It will make our overnight very muggy, with southwest winds increasing toward morning. A few showers may be able to move into Citrus and Hernando counties.
On Monday, the front approaches from the northwest as a cold front. Expect strong, gusty southwest winds. It will be warm and humid. Scattered showers and storms will move in from the northwest. Storms could bring strong winds. Storms will be south of Tampa Bay by the evening.

Minor coastal flooding is possible along the coast of Citrus County on Monday due to strong southwest winds. Flooding will be possible at high tide times which hit in the mid afternoon.
The front will move through Monday night.
Tuesday looks drier and less humid, but not cooler. Skies will be partly cloudy, and highs will be in the 80s in the coastal counties to around 90 degrees inland.
Wednesday will continue with decent humidity. Winds will be light. Highs will be in the upper 80s.
On Thursday, southeast to south winds increase. It will be windy. There will be some showers possible. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.
Expect scattered thunderstorms for Friday and Saturday. Shower chances will continue next Sunday.
