ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Arts venues have been shuttered as shows are canceled in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Studio @620 in one of them.

The downtown St. Petersburg space is quiet.

But co-founder Bob Devin Jones says he can hear echoes of shows past.

“It’s in the in the walls,” Devin Jones said. “I tell people things like that and they are all ‘Bob stop!’”

The studio is about to start its 16th season of offerings. There is everything their from stamp crafting to radio theatre to five-minute plays.

Devin Jones lives by the adage that the answer is always yes.

Even though everything is uncertain, Jones hopes that people don’t forget that there is beauty in everything from art to cooking.

“I want all of humanity as we try to catch our breath – be catching our breath the astonishing things,” said Devin Jones. ”Like an aria or a piece of dance or a really good pound cake, pecan pie, sweet potato pie with nutmeg you know what I am saying?”

The studio has begun to offer virtual works on their social media platforms.
