The Hernando School District unanimously voted Monday for a third reopening option for students -- digital home learning.
The two other options available for students are traditional in-school learning and a virtual option.
Students who choose the third option will connect to live daily lessons. They will have a similar schedule to the traditional model.
Digital home learning differs from virtual learning, which offers pre-designed Hernando e-school teachers online and a flexible schedule.
According to the district, digital home learning is meant to allow for a smooth transition back to in-school learning when the student is ready.
Families will need to provide a digital device that has a camera, microphone, and access to the Internet.
There may be some classes that aren't available through this choice. Requirements, classwork, and grades are also the same as in-school learning.
Parents will need to make a decision by Friday.
The school district is also requiring students to wear masks.
