HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A Hillsborough County public school teacher is taking her skills on the road to help struggling eLearners.
Ida Shuler left her teaching position at Ippolito Elementary in September. She then bought a bus and created a mobile classroom. Shuler stops in different neighborhoods and provides free support to students who are learning online.
“There are some parents who don’t have WIFI, who don’t have computers so now I am going to the home and providing those materials,” Shuler said. “We’re doing it all.”
Parents and children appreciate the help.
“We love it,” said parent Britan Glenn. “We love it.”
Shuler said she’s seen a positive difference in the students she has helped.
The teacher has a GoFundMe page to raise money for her mobile classroom. She’s using the donations to keep the bus running for the rest of the school year.
