TAMPA, Fla. — With huge early voting numbers across the country and in the Bay area, what kind of turnout should we expect locally on Tuesday?
Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer said he still expects to see a lot of voters turn out on Election Day.

“Traditionally, 70% are, actually more than 70% of our voters, vote prior to Election Day," Latimer said. "So we're going to have that, vote by mail, we're going to have early voting, those people will have already voted. The only thing left on Election Day is somebody who didn't vote yet, and typically that's under 30%."
As of Monday morning, close to 600,000 Hillsborough County voters had already cast their ballots during early voting. On Monday, elections offices will upload the results of early voting.
If you still have your vote by mail ballot, you need to take it to your local Supervisor of Elections office by 7 p.m, Tuesday for it to be counted. You do still have the option to vote in person on Election Day— your mail ballot will be cancelled as soon as you check in.
Latimer said in person voting could take longer than usual, though, because of the COVID-19 safety precautions in place.
Before going to the polls Tuesday, Latimer also said to make sure you check your precinct, some have changed, and you will need a valid ID to vote.
