A 68-year-old Lake County man suffered critical injuries Thursday after crashing a Kia sedan into a box truck on State Road 11 in rural Flagler County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The Leesburg man was airlifted to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, according to FHP’s preliminary crash report.
The crash happened at 3:50 p.m. on SR 11 south of County Road 304.
The Kia was heading north on SR 11 when the driver, “failed to maintain his lane and veered into the box truck's path,” the FHP report said.
The Kia hit the left side of the box truck, troopers said.
The truck, operated by a 36-year-old Sumter County man, was heading south. The Lake Panasoffkee man suffered no injuries, according to the FHP report.
“Both vehicles came to the final resting position on the eastern grassy shoulder of State Road 11,” the FHP report added.
The report did not name the drivers.
