ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Dozens of children in St. Petersburg will now have bicycles for the holidays this year, thanks to police officers and donations from the community.

Sixty bikes were donated to give out to children in need as part of the department's ‘Park, Walk & Talk’ program where bikes are bought every holiday for officers to pass out.

Not only will the children get a new bike, they will each get a helmet and lock.

“It shows how the police department and the community are working together to make sure that we can give to people that don't have as much as other people have,” Police Chief Anthony Holloway said.

Those who are interested in donating bikes for older children and teenagers can contact the St. Pete Police Department.
