WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Christmas came a bit early at the Winter Haven Police Department Saturday morning.
For the last three decades, the department has collaborated with Santa to deliver Christmas gifts to families in need, but this year, with the pandemic, they delivered the gifts drive through style.
“It’s really special to us this year to be able to get out there and provide Christmas for some families that need it so that they don’t have to worry about making the decision of do I pay bills or do I give my kids Christmas?” said Chief Charles Bird.
Kids received everything from bikes to toys to food.
The gifts were purchased and donated from many local organizations, including the employees at the Winter Haven Police Department, the American Legion, and Walmart.
