PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — The strong Christmas Eve storm that blew across the Bay area left some damage in a Pinellas County community.
Residents at the Ranchero Village Mobile Home Park on Ulmerton Road in Largo had debris strewn about Thursday night when winds close to 60 mph blew through.

- FORECAST: A Chilly Christmas
“I’ve never seen a wind storm like,” said Ranchero Village resident Peter Lakatos. “And I stay through all the hurricanes and all the bad weather, nothing like this has happened. I just thought we were blessed.”
Lakatos said the strong winds seemed to come out of nowhere. He and other residents said they were just happy the damage wasn’t as bad as it could have been and no one was hurt.
Part of a roof in the park was blown off and dropped in a neighbor’s yard, barely missing another home.
“We pulled up here and just stopped and I saw this damage and ran in the house to see the dogs and the dogs were good,” said Fiona O’Rouke. “Everything is good, nobody’s dead, nobody’s hurt it’s just a shocker.”
