TAMPA, Fla. — The Covid-19 testing site at Raymond James Stadium has moved across the street to make way for Super Bowl LV preparations.

The site's not moving far.

The new location will be across the street from the stadium to the west of Dale Mabry Highway, across from Hillsborough Community College.

Hillsborough County's COVID-19 Testing Task Force Leader Jon-Paul Lavandeira said the new site will be able to handle the same amount of testing as the current spot.

"This is not a downgrade or anything by any means," he said. "In preparation for the upcoming Super Bowl, the sports authority got with the county, and they requested we transfer the site to an adjacent lot.”

Crews used the holiday weekend to move tents, trailers, and equipment to the new location. Super Bowl LV is scheduled for Feb. 7.

Starting Monday, the new location will be accessed through the entrance to lot 12.

The new location is not slowing the rush of testing into the new year as vehicles began lining up at lot 12 by 5 a.m. Monday.

The new stadium location will open on Monday at 8:00 a.m.

It will then operate on its normal schedule of Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
