WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — A 16-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle near a school bus stop Thursday morning in Winter Haven.
Authorities said the girl, a Winter Haven High School student, suffered non-life threatening injuries, and will fully recover.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at Avenue G NW, near 22nd Street NW.
She was flown to Tampa General Hospital.
According to police, the car that struck her was being driven by an 18-year-old teen who was on his way to work.
Officers said he told deputies he did not see her. He was driving westbound approaching the bus.
The crash remains under investigation.
