It’s even bringing some families closer together.

The first fans to hit the drills at the Super Bowl Experience on Saturday were Darren Raichart and his two sons, Caleb and Daniel.

“I’ve been a Bucs fan my whole life,” Raichart said. “The biggest I knew until my sons came along. It follows in the blood.”

At just age 12, Raichart’s son Caleb can rattle off every Bucs stat you can think of.

“We’re the first team to be the home team in the Super Bowl. Got two big upsets. Home field advantage is going to be big,” Caleb said.

He learned from his dad, who is quick to teach his kids that loving the Bucs has meant more hard times than good ones.

“Started in the 80s,” Raichart said. “First NFL team I ever saw. Diehard fan, literally and figuratively, from when they were 2-14 and then to the Super Bowl, which I went to.”

These are the kind of stories you hear from fans checking out the Super Bowl festivities along Tampa’s Riverwalk. The attractions opened on Friday night.

Fans are getting a chance to see NFL memorabilia up close, play some football, take some photos and take part in celebrations for the big game.

Raichart hopes this fun doesn’t end here and goes all the way through Super Bowl Sunday, just so he can see his kids enjoy it.

“I went to the Bucs’ first Super Bowl,” he said. “I lived my dream. Even better now to watch my sons. I want the team to win but more so, I want my boys to see them win. This one means even more because of them.”

Though reservations for the Super Bowl Experience are sold out, there are other attractions along the Riverwalk that don’t require any tickets. Masks are required at all of these events.
