HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A 55-year-old man was arrested Saturday in connection to the discovery of a burned body found earlier this month near the Sunshine Skyway bridge, according to Hillsborough County deputies.
Fred Williams is facing a charge of tampering with physical evidence.

The arrest stems from a missing person's case of a local security guard reported on June 9.
The missing person's body was found after St. Pete fire rescue responded to a fire near a rest stop by the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. The sheriff's office has not yet released the name of the victim but has identified them as a female in their 30s.
She was reported missing by a family member who said she did not return home after her shift as a security guard ended at the Beach Walk Condominiums in Town N' Country.
According to the sheriff's office, this is an active homicide investigation.
