ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — It’s no secret the Rays have struggled with attendance at Tropicana Field.

And even now, with the playoffs starting, it may still be a struggle getting people in all of the seats.

What You Need To Know

Tickets for Game 1 of the American League Division Series are still available, and the last time the Rays hosted playoff games at Tropicana Field in 2019, they were all sold out, or close to it.

According to Bay News 9 partner newspaper, the Tampa Bay Times, Rays OF Kevin Kiermaier said the tram is relying on fans to come out and support them for the first two games since the Rays have home field advantage.

Now, though, with so many tickets still available it could be the Red Sox who end up with the fan base advantage.

One fan in the “Keep the Rays in Tampa Bay” Facebook page posted saying, “We’ll, I’m thinking when we win the World Series our attendance will skyrocket next season,” which is all fans can hope for.

This week, the Rays did say they may be interested in moving the tram to a site in Ybor City, but they also said they’re committed to going to Montreal every summer.
