CLEARWATER, Fla. — Clearwater police credit alert officers for arresting a 26-year-old man on Thursday who was allegedly plotting to kidnap a child. 

Police said they were called to Jacob Holman's home early Thursday morning on a report of a domestic dispute. During the course of their investigation, officers reported finding a list written by Holman listing different items and actions.

According to police, those items included duct tape, gloves, a shovel, flashlight, first aid kit and a condom. Also on the list was written "snatch up lil girl" and "throw in trunk."

Police said they found video of a girl who appeared to be about 5-years-old at a local store on Holman's cellphone. Detectives also allegedly found child pornography on Holman's computer, according to an arrest report.

Holman was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping and possession of child pornography on Thursday.

Clearwater Police Department Maj. Natalia Illich-Hailey said Holman had filled up his car and was planning to drive to Ocala before officers intervened.

"This was a huge deal for patrol offices to realize the threat that was happening right there beyond the initial call," said Illich-Hailey. "This is one that makes you very proud and you just want to thank the family members that came forward and voiced this concern because we really did, I truly believe, that we saved a life yesterday."

On Friday, a judge ordered that Holman be held in the Pinellas County Jail in liey of a $550,000 bond.
