From egg hunts to photo ops to even scavenger hunts, this Easter will be a busy one for the Bay area. Here is a list of events and activities families can enjoy this weekend:

Hillsborough County

Next Level Church Riverview, in partnership with the Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department will be hosting an Easter Egg hunt on Sunday, April 17 at 10 a.m. with a hovering helicopter that drops thousands of plastic candy-filled eggs onto a field for children to collect as many as they can fit in their bag. The event is free, but anyone who wishes to come to the Egg Drop is required to attend one of NLC Riverview’s Easter experiences. Guests can register here.


The Florida Aquarium has multiple activities set up in celebration of Easter: themed events like a digital scavenger egg hunt and Easter bunny photos are free to guests and included in general admission. During the festivities, guests can enjoy watching authentic egg-laying species like the African penguin, Fulvous Whistling-Duck, and the American alligator. Events run from April 15 - 17.


Manatee County

Honeyside Farms in Parrish is setting up an Easter egg hunt with a farm tour included on Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. There will also be u-pick opportunities where guests can pick their own vegetables. Buy tickets here.

The Cotton Tail Express returns at the Florida Railroad Museum in Parrish for Easter outings. The half-hour train ride will take guests to an Easter egg hunt location and there will be activities such as hayrides, arts and crafts and pictures with the Easter Bunny. Tickets start at $19. Pasco County

Gulf Railroad at Crews Lake Park in Spring Hill will be having Easter mini train rides around the park with Easter egg hunts, Easter bunny photos and some additional arts and crafts that families can take part of. Tickets are $8 per person. Learn more here

REConnections Education Center is putting a twist to Easter egg hunting: they will be hosting a glow-in-the-dark egg hunt Saturday, April 16 from 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. Dinner will be included with the cost of the ticket, which can be purchased here. Auction baskets, raffle games and other activities are also planned for the evening.

Pinellas County

Winter’s Beach Club in Clearwater Beach is having an Easter egg hunt in the sand on Friday, April 15 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. There will also be photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, as well as a bagged breakfast. It’s $10 for visitors and free for Beach Club guests.

DK Farms and Nursery in Largo will be having an “Easter at the Farm” event in which guests can participate in free petting zoos, a bunny zone and meet-and-greets with the Easter Bunny. Pony rides with also be available at an additional charge. A ticket is required to take part in their Easter egg hunt which can be booked here.
