PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — The man accused of killing a St. Petersburg teen has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Jacobee Flowers, 34, previously pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the 2012 death of 17-year-old Morgan Martin.
Police say Flowers was the father of martin's baby and she left her home to see him on July 25, 2012 but then disappeared.
According to Bay News 9 partner newspaper the Tampa Bay Times, Flowers' sentence was part of a plea deal. He could have gotten a shorter sentence if he led investigators to Martin's body.
But he got 40 years because Martin's remains still have not been found.
Morgan Martin was 17 when she vanished in 2012 after leaving her St. Petersburg home to talk to the man she believed was the father of her unborn baby. (FILE image)
