TAMPA - It's been more than two weeks since a Tampa family last saw their loved one.

The family of John Larson reported him missing after he disappeared in late April.

"This is when he had his baby. He was so excited," said his sister, Joan Caffrey, who shared photos of the 24-year-old Larson.

''This position of not knowing where my son is is unbelievable," said his mother, Joann Pitts.

April 26 was the last day anyone saw or heard from Larson, who arrived in Ybor City to meet a friend at a bar at around 11:30 pm. Police say he never made it to the bar. His sister says surveillance footage confirms his last known location.

"So at 11:36 p.m. there's footage of John pulling in on Palm Avenue and 15th Street and he's turning to park his truck. There's no other footage of him. He texted his friend 'I'm parking in Ybor," she said.

The Larson family say police told them that a ping from John's phone was found in the Palmetto Beach area. No other leads have come through since.

"It's hard, you know, I understand that no one knows my brother the way that I do but John's not gonna go out for days on a bender or with another girl or just leave and not tell anyone. Something happened to him and I know that it happened to him and we are gonna find it out."

Their search continued Saturday at the same location where John was last seen and where his vehicle was recovered.

They combed through nearby blocks in Ybor City to talk to people and share photos of their son and brother. His mother hopes their efforts will trigger someone's memory of that night.
